My name is Dim.Yuz. (Dmitry Yuzefovich). I hold an MFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. I am a professional visual artist working out of my art studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I use traditional techniques of the old masters of oil painting on canvas.

My art is inspired by my artistic and personal life experience, which allows me as an artist to communicate with the world in a universal language. I call my works “Behind the memory” as it is all about representation of memory. I frequently represent environments in which I lived in the past, or attempt to catch the memory of the environments I live in. I paint, draw or create cardboard sculptures of domestic spaces and personal objects.  Those come together in my work and form a puzzle of personal and universal memories.

In my realist oil paintings, I capture spaces that appear neglected or abandoned, while my sculptures, which are made of an ephemeral material, constitute an analogy to the elusive materiality of the memory itself. In this manner, I create a language based on a relationship between fragments of memory and the possibility of embodying them in the present.
